In the ibaPDA Client the list of found servers is automatically displayed under "Select server". A server name or IP address can also be entered under "Address" and actively searched via the "Search" button.
The client sends a UDP multicast telegram on all existing network cards to the following address (184.108.40.206:12800, so UDP port 12800 is used). The servers who receive this answer are listed in the selection table. Sometimes you won’t see all servers in the network since multicast telegrams are often blocked by (managed) switches. Also the TTL (time to live) can be relevant. This is set to 5 so the multicast does not survive being transmitted over more than 5 cascaded switches.
